Semaglutide FAQs

  • Semaglutide is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists. It is an injectable medication that is given once a week by you or in our clinic at RMI MEDSPA. Semaglutide is commonly used to treat type 2 diabetes, but it has gained attention as a potential treatment for weight loss. Semaglutide mimics the effects of a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1).  It stimulates insulin secretion, reduces appetite, and slows down the digestion process. By mimicking the effects of GLP-1, Semaglutide reduces your appetite and assists you in eating less and feeling full longer.

  • Semaglutide works by binding to the GLP-1 receptor in the brain, which helps to reduce your hunger and increase your feelings of fullness. It also slows down the rate at which food leaves the stomach.  This helps reduce your calorie intake.

  • There are many benefits by taking Semaglutide for weight loss. The medication has been shown to help people lose weight and keep it off. It also helps to reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, as obesity is a major risk factor for the disease. Semaglutide is also easy to use, as it is injected weekly either at home or at RMI MEDSPA.

  • Like any other medications, Semaglutide can cause side effects. The most common side effects of Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are possible constipation, nausea and diarrhea. These side effects usually go away on their own after a few days to weeks. We also have supplements that will assist you with side effects. Semaglutide or Tirzepatide can also cause pancreatitis, which is a serious condition that requires immediate medical attention. We will discuss this with you at your consultation at RMI MEDSPA.

  • Semaglutide can be approved for use in patients who have a body mass index BMI of 30 or higher. It is also approved for use in people who have a lower BMI and have a weight-related health condition. Semaglutide or Tirzepatide should not be used by pregnant women or anyone with a history of pancreatitis or Thyroid cancer. RMI MEDSPA will go over your medical history to help you determine if this is a good choice for you.

  • Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are injectable medications that is given once a week. Compounded Semaglutide also is available in oral form. Semaglutide should be injected into the stomach or thigh area. We will also inject it for you at RMI MEDSPA if you have a phobia of doing it yourself.

  • Semaglutide and Tirzepatide start working after the first dose. However, it may take several weeks to see significant weight change. You will usually go up in dose after your first month. We will determine that after you have started the program at RMI MEDSPA.   Semaglutide works by reducing appetite and increasing feelings of fullness.

  • In addition to our many weight loss options we also offer MIC B & C and Vitamin D injections, Oral supplements Vitamin D & K2 and Magnesium Citrate.  Everything you need to promote a superior weight loss experience.

    MIC Lipoburn-C is a lipotropic mixture of nutrients (amino acids (Methionine, L-carnitine), B vitamins and vitamin-B like compounds (Inositol & Choline) are known to facilitate weight loss, specifically body fat.

  • At your complimentary CARE consultation we will work with you to understand your goals and create a plan tailored for you. Our certified SculpSure experts will examine the areas you would like treated to determine the number of applicators that will be needed to achieve superior results for you. If you would like you can have your treatment done the same day.

  • First, we will mark the fat areas to treat. Then, we will place up to 4 applicators in templates on the areas marked. At the start of your treatment you will feel a cooling sensation and then an interval of gentle heat. Alternating cooling and heat will continue for your 25-minute treatment. Most clients will experience a sporadic tingling sensation that is easily tolerated. During the treatment, you can take some time for yourself to relax, read or listen to some music.

  • After your treatment, you can immediately return to work, exercise or other daily activities on your to do list. Some clients may experience some mild tenderness, but can expect it will not impact their ability to resume their normal activities.
