Who should have microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a procedure that involves top layer of the skin and to promote the production of new cells in the basal (deepest) layer of the dermis. Microdermabrasion is a closed vacuum system that exfoliates the thickened epidermis then vacuums away the skin debris revealing healthier skin. It cleans pores and hinders any future breakouts if used on a regular basis. Microdermabrasion also stimulates collagen production to further even out skin texture and appearance.Microdermabrasion is generally suggested for:
- Dull, oily or leathery skin texture
- Minimizing enlarged pores
- Exfoliating and suctioning clogged pores in acne cases
- Polishing and reducing fine lines.
- Mild acne scarring
- Mild pigment irregularities
- Enhancing penetration of therapeutic remedies
- Minimizing blemishes
How often are treatments given?
Microdermabrasion requires a series of treatments. While results are achieved with a single treatment, it is an unrealistic to expect significant results. Cumulative results can be significant with as little as 6 treatments repeated one to three weeks apart. Monthly maintenance treatments are recommended.
Is it safe for all skin types?
Yes, microdermabrasion is safe for every skin type and skin color.
What can I expect after my first treatment?
